Grrrr - Honda Chopper

It's been a while since I finally took the madien voyage on my '71 Honda Chopper. Well I, all these years later, have finally worked all the bugs out of the engine side and now I only have to focus on the cosmetic stuff. This baby is riding sweet, so by this time next year I hope to have it painted up really nice. We'll see if I can fight procrastination.

Watch World Cup Online (In the U.S.)

ESPN360 is streaming the World Cup games for free and for anyone in the U.S. Usually they provide it only to users of certain ISP's.

That Italy game was gut wrenching. I'm trying to learn Italian (via Pimsleur) so I'm rooting for Italy now that that the U.S. is out of it.

Keane on ESPN Tonight.

I'm watching the England Vs. Sweden World Cup game, and the announcers tell me that Keane is playing two songs off their new album in Los Angeles today as part of some Virgin Megastore Soccer game. Keane from England, England is playing. I think that's a good tie-in.

But the announcer said that there will be more of Keane tonight on "World Cup Live" (1 AM Eastern). Whoops, they just showed a clip of Keane singing "Somewhere Only We Know". They claimed it was "Live" so I guess they are singing during the Halftime of the game.

They should be in a good mood since England is up by one goal.

Oh, O.K. I just checked Keane's website, and I read this:

"20.06.06
Instore show at Virgin, Los Angeles
Keane to perform two songs from Under The Iron Sea at a World Cup event at Virgin Megastore in LA (Hollywood & Highland location). The store will be showing the England v Sweden game from 12noon, with Keane appearing live at half-time (approx 12.45pm)."

So stay tuned tonight on ESPN and we'll see if they play more than 30 seconds of their set.

Leaving Louisville

In the Marriot buisness center about to leave the Transplant Games. Just saying hi! I'm still here.

The opening ceremony last night was a tear jerker. Larry Hagman showed us his scars. Lots of pictures going on flickr when I get back home. Jaime bought a Nikon D70 on Clearance from Ritz Camera and has been going apey on it. See you soon, Newport News.

The legend of Herr Neas and Jeremy Okai Davis - Artist

So our local record shop has an art gallery in the back. Always interesting stuff there. Right now they are featuring some works from an impressive artist named Jeremy Okai Davis. Check it: It's called "the Deer Show".

Here is his site with pictures of his stuff.

So this past Saturday was the opening show, and I wanted so badly to go and shake his hand after saying hello (that rhymes). I first heard of him from the Beard Contest I was in over the winter, but when we were all in Nashville for the "Beard Throwdown" party I never talked with him other than to say hi when Jaime and I were leaving.

So my brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and niece were in town all last week and we went to the Tides game Saturday, so that's why I didn't go to meet the man behind the Enid painting.

I'm watching "Ghost World" again tonight. I can't get to sleep and work has me blind with meetings, powerpoint slides, and visio diagrams. But "ghost world' made me remember his "Enid" painting and it made me remember that I missed you people.

Look at this version of the Enid painting because it's much better than the one on this website:

Here's Jeremy's blog with a little write up of his trip up-South to Norfolk.

Neas was there! Ahh, Neas. Scott Neas. Herr Neas. Good man. He's a legend, but nay a mythical one. He's very very real. He's a dynamo. Being around him make you feel good. Like something special is happening just because he's there. Really. He's one of those. Those that are mad for the world. "...the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk,...the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace things, but burn like fabulous roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue center light pop and everybody goes "AWWW!"" (source)

Here he is on The View talking about his mustache!

Got an email from him just a few hours back. Wants to know if I'm interested in seeing Dungen at the Satellite Ballroom in Charlottesville, VA next Thursday. Alas, I don't know if I can make that. My Brother-in-Law's Transplant Games is that week and Jaime and I and all here family are going to be there to cheer him on. Two years with Jaime's Sister's Kidney! Congrats!

Hey, The Transplant Games is in Louisville, Ky only a half and hour from my birthplace! Maybe I can show Jaime where it all started.

Feel Free to scroll up and check out my Archives! Thanks for stopping by!
