Email Thread about Stolen Transmission Records
Well, first of all, Thank You for sending me the CD's. It was very nice of you.
I was a little disappointed that you didn't send the oohlas cd as you promised. But no worries, I'm going to buy it anyway because I've been hearing the first two songs (and Small Parts) twice a day on my Rhapsody player. Those first two songs have been right at the top of my morning playlist (along with Ramblin' Jack Elliot's version of "Tennessee Stud", various Stellastarr*, and Laid Back's "White Horse").

There is another song later on in the Oohlas album that is really good (after the dreadful "TV Dinner") but I never remember to find out what it's called. I need to pay attention next time to what the songs called next time I hear it.
I went to a local independent Record Store, Norfolk's own Relative Theory (www.relativetheoryrecords.com) and was going to buy the Oohlas CD since I liked it so much. But they didn't have it in stock. I bought the new Broadcast B-sides collection and a Demetri Martin comedy CD instead.
How does the Oohlas make money by my listening to their record on Rhapsody?

You sent me another CD that was a nice surprise. Zulons? Zaxons? I'm typing during Project Runway so I can't get up to go find out but they had some good stuff on there. I listened to it while trying to plug the leak in my attic and then when I was cleaning my hunting rifle in preparation for sighting it in this Saturday. (I finally walked to my desk. They're the Klaxons)

And thanks for kind words! I got an new harddrive here and it seems to be working o.k. so far. I'm back on and I've got a lot of emails here. One hundred seventy nine. Plus I have to deal with losing all my pictures, video, and music from the old hard drive.
I love checking this stuff out, and I love bragging about the stuff I like. Blogging is still iffy though till I find out if I'm still have a job Oct. 1. Yikes!! Plus, my wife is healing after some stuff (long, sad story). I hope to get back into it more soon enough.
